ScHoolboy Q speaks about never wanting to meet his estranged father

ScHoolboy Q discusses his birth in Germany and speaks about never wanting to meet his estranged father.

While in New York, ScHoolboy Q, stopped by Angie Martinez's show to talk. During the interview, he spoke up about being born in Germany and his relationship with his estranged father.

"I’ve never been back to Germany," (his birth place). "My mom was a U.S. citizen. My dad was too. They both was in the army…I ain’t seen pops yet. I don’t know my daddy.
"
When asked if he ever wanted to connect with his father, he said he's "never" had that desire.

"Nah, never in my whole life. I’ve never talked about him. No questions came up. I’ve never talked to my momma this much about it. She asked me one time, ‘You wanna meet your dad?’ I was like, ‘Nope.’"

Kendrick Lamar performs at the electric ballroom camden- 26th June

I travelled to London last night to see Kendrick Lamar perform as part of his 2-date mini tour in the Electric ballroom in Camden. He had never been to the UK to perform before so yesterday and Monday's gig was an exciting and rare opportunity for his UK fan base. There was a great turn out and he even seemed a lil shocked at the knowledge of his musical history that we UK fans possessed. He performed classic hits like 'ADHD', 'Suck My Dick', 'Pussy and Patron' (We all went crazy for these ones, and sang along with extreme volume), He rapped the first verse of 'HiiiPOWER' A-capella which was sik but I would have loved to hear the whole track, this is the one I was looking forward to the most. I can imagine how hype the place would have been all joining in to the chorus of ‘HiiiPOWER'. His set finished just under an hour which left me wanting more, but he finished off with two tracks ( ‘Cartoons & Cereal’  and  ‘The Recipe’ ) from his upcoming debut album 'good kid, m.A.A.d city' (release date oct 2nd 2012)  which left me buzzing.
Highlights of the night was him claiming we are all family and passing bottles of water to the crowd telling us “sip that shit nigga pass it around", and just his pure energy on stage. His rapport with the crowd was on point and the atmosphere was electric.
I guess the only let down for me was not hearing him perform tracks like 'HiiiPOWER' or 'Rigamortis', oh and the fact that as the ticket said 'and special guests' I kept expecting ScHoolboy Q, Ab-Soul or Jay Rock to jump on stage.
The videos I took were of very poor quality, due the fact I have a Blackberry, (anyone with a BB curve will understand). So here is a video for my favourite Kendrick track- HiiiPOWER.

Take into account that great love and great achievements involve great risk.
When you lose, don’t lose the lesson.
Follow the three R’s:
- Respect for self,
- Respect for others and
- Responsibility for all your actions.
Remember that not getting what you want is sometimes a wonderful stroke of luck.
Learn the rules so you know how to break them properly.
Don’t let a little dispute injure a great relationship.
When you realize you’ve made a mistake, take immediate steps to correct it.
Spend some time alone every day.
Open your arms to change, but don’t let go of your values.
Remember that silence is sometimes the best answer.
Live a good, honorable life. Then when you get older and
think back, you’ll be able to enjoy it a second time.
A loving atmosphere in your home is the foundation for your life.
In disagreements with loved ones, deal only with the current situation. Don’t bring up the past.
Share your knowledge. It is a way to achieve immortality.
Be gentle with the earth.
Once a year, go someplace you’ve never been before.
Remember that the best relationship is one in which your love for each other exceeds your need for each other.
Judge your success by what you had to give up in order to get it.
If you want others to be happy, practice compassion.

Oooh I'm very excited about this shoe that the Mulleavy sisters revealed to Marie-Claire from their upcoming footwear collection. "For us, every season starts with a shoe idea. Fall allowed us to use a concept we had saved for the right moment," the sisters told Marie Claire. "We created heels made of molded resin filled with layers of coloured sand. We wanted to reference the amazing layers of earth in the landscape." Take a peek below, and head to Marie Claire for more images from the collection. They'd look hot with some tight skinny's ;)

At the Singapore launch of the highly sought-after new Air Yeezy 2, the sneaker's Egyptian theme was echoed throughout, with a Egyptian solider escort that matches the shoe’s theme, the shorter-cut and spike-textured Yeezy 2′s were brought in inside their own Mummy's casket, for the reveal in front of an estimated 500-strong crowd.  Following a few raffles and other prize give-aways, a handful of lucky sneakerheads in attendance got their hands on a pair of the anaconda-textured leather kicks with their glow-in-the-dark soles thanks to an in-store raffle organized by local boutique Limited Edt. David Haye Vs Dereck Chisora “Licensed to Thrill”

UPDATE: 29/6/12 -Check out the new Haye-Chisora page on The Sun's website here

Fight night is fast approaching (July 14th) and as a huge boxing fan, it would be silly of me not to write about the biggest all-British heavyweight showdown in recent years- David Haye V Dereck Chisora “Licensed to Thrill”. It's been hard to give my predictions for this fight, in my eyes it could be a very close one Haye (25-2, 23 KO) hasn't fought for nearly a year, since his loss to Wladimir Klitschko and Chisora (15-3, 9 KO) has lost three of his last four fights (to Tyson Fury, Robert Helenius and Vitali Klitschko). I get the feeling that David Haye is expected to win this one, he certainly has the skills but Chisora is so head strong and he has the ablitiy to force Haye into a brawl as well being able to put pressure on him, definitely more pressure than Klitschko put on Haye. I'm going to predict Haye to win but on points, not on a stoppage which is what the majority think, Chisora has a strong chin, he proved this in his fight against Vitali Klitschko. Haye will win because he punches too hard, is super quick and will have too much skill for Dereck. If there was to be a stoppage I predict it to be in a very late round. Either way it's going to be a very exciting fight. I have my tickets and will be travelling to London in less than 4 weeks to watch it!!

Kendrick Lamar explains what it's like to work with Dr. Dre and gives an update on his debut album 'Good Kid in a Mad City'

Kendrick explained that while his first commercial project doesn't have a specific release date, that doesn't mean it's trapped in commercial limbo. He said that he's been factor behind its delay so that he can ensure that he's completely satisfied with the quality of product before he unleashes it.
"I can't give out no date right now, I just know I'm pressed for time," he joked. "[Aftermath] want[s] what I been doing. That's a good space to be in. You can get in a lot situations where your people actually don't understand your vision, but I've got a good backing and good following and a good team behind me, they understand me and it's all on me, so I'm gonna deliver. I've got the music; I'm just real, real sensitive on the touch ups as far as the structure [of the LP]."
K. Dot also spoke on his working relationship with Aftermath head and musical mentor Dr. Dre. Although he said there is some pressure in collaborating with Dre, he looked to many of the same producers from his 2011 smash Section.80 for production on his impending debut.
"It's definitely intense [working with Dr. Dre], but the best thing about it the creative process," he said. "That's the fun thing because he's a genius at his work, and for me to be in the same studio [as him] says a lot about my craft and how far we're going with it, so I love it…I've use[d] my own in-house cast for the majority of the music I did [for Good Kid in a Bad City] - Soundwave, Tae Beast, Willie B, Digi+Phonics - all the people I came up with, they [produced] the majority of the album. When I turned it in to Dre all the way back at the end of the year, then we did new material and see what cuts through."

This is a new and very exciting collaboration, the Converse x Gorillaz collection celebrates Jamie Hewlett’s early work for the band whilst it also pays homage to the group’s most notable characters. Converse x Marimekko Fall 2012 Chuck Taylor All Star Collection

The Converse x Marimekko collection is vivid and exciting– every print has a unique story told through the classic Converse Chuck Taylor All-Star.
The Papajo print was created by designer Annika Rimala and was inspired by carvings found in Maya temples while the Kippis print designed by Maija Louekari was inspired by the idea of decorating a porcelain mug with drawings of crystal glasses to make it perfect for serving celebratory drinks. One of Marimekko’s most popular prints, Unikko, was originally designed in 1964 by Maija Isola as a protest to Marimekko founder Armi Ratia forbidding Marimekko designers from creating floral prints as she felt that flowers would always look more beautiful in nature. The Pirput Parput print was designed by Vuokko Eskolin-Nurmesniemi and gives a pop of colour to the classic Chuck Taylor All Star silhouette.
Available now at premium Converse retailers.

ScHoolboy Q Says A Black Hippy Album Will Drop Once It's a "Classic"

“When it’s ready to be a classic,” said ScHoolboy Q when he was asked about a release date for the Black Happy album. “[We’re] not gonna just do it cause everyone else is doing it and everybody just want us to drop a project. We want it to be classic…We want our shit to stick, like classic.”
In the interview ScHoolboy Q also briefly spoke about his solo album which he’s already a couple of tracks into.
“[I’m] about five records in on my album. I think I got a couple singles ready. You never know until it’s that time you know what I’m saying, but I got something,” ScHoolboy Q explained.
Later in the interview Black Hippy’s Ab-Soul gave his thoughts on the group’s first big feature in XXL magazine. While Ab-Soul explained that he wasn’t too overwhelmed by the opportunity he did reveal that he was honoured to be a part of it.
“It’s not like overwhelming, if you will. But we grew up watching XXL too. Who didn’t? You know what I’m saying? It’s definitely an honor,” said Ab-Soul.

I will be seeing Black Hippy member Kendrick Lamar perform at the Electric Ballroom in London on Tuesday (26th), I'll make sure I blog all about it. For now here is my favourite Black Hippy vid. It's not a music video but it is everything I love about Black Hippy. Enjoy...
